Reggae Rotterdam brings Grace Jones, UB40 and Chuckie to Kralingse Bos

The biggest open-air reggae festival in the Netherlands will once again take place in Rotterdam. Next to the Kralings Plas Reggae Rotterdam fills three stages with reggae and derived music styles.

Expect classics like Grace Jones, UB40, Steel Pulse and Third World next to new names such as Konshens, Chronixx and Protoje. Dutch DJ’s like Chuckie and Moortje will play modern Reggaeton, Moombathon, and Bubbling, the typical sped-up version of Dancehall that partly originated in Rotterdam. At One Love Beach devotees can relax and enjoy pure reggae, African and Caribbean music, roots, dub and loversrock.

Reggae Rotterdam presents Grace Jones as ٞone of the main acts of the festival. The Jamaican singer and style icon will perform an exclusive show in the Netherlands. The Jamaican-born Jones redefined reggae, disco, pop, and dance with classics such as Pull Up to the Bumper, La Vie en Rose, My Jamaican Guy, Slave to the Rhythm, and other songs produced by the legendary producers Sly & Robbie. As an actress, she appeared in the James Bond picture: A View To A Kill. Next to that, she’s a trendsetter in fashion and beauty.

UB40, Chronixx, Third World, Mavado, Steel Pulse, Protoje, Eek-aMouse, Gyptian, Alborosie, Konshens, Rootsriders and Boy Ge Mendes are also in the line-up.

The festival takes place on Saturday 23 July from 1 PM to 11 PM. The festival is free for children up to 12 years old. Tickets are still available here.
