One of Rotterdam’s most iconic landmarks has officially entered a new era. After nearly six months of extensive renovation, the Euromast has celebrated its official reopening, marking the completion of a major restoration project that prepares the city’s famous observation tower for the future.
Although visitors have been welcomed back since 19 June, when the renewed Brasserie also reopened, the official celebration brought together invited guests, partners and city representatives to toast the landmark’s new chapter with live music, drinks and panoramic views across Rotterdam.
A future-proof Rotterdam landmark
The renovation focused on restoring the exterior of the Euromast while giving the Brasserie a complete makeover. Guests can now enjoy a refreshed interior, a redesigned bar and an updated menu featuring contemporary dishes alongside the spectacular skyline views that have made the Euromast one of Rotterdam’s most popular attractions.
A new managing director
The reopening also marked an important milestone for Menno Noordenbos, who recently joined the Euromast as Managing Director.
“It feels special to become part of the Euromast during this exciting period. Welcoming visitors back and helping shape the next chapter of this iconic destination is something I’m incredibly proud of,” says Noordenbos.
Rotterdam’s icon returns
During the ceremony, Rotterdam Mayor Carola Schouten highlighted the importance of preserving the city’s landmarks for future generations.
“The Euromast is truly one of Rotterdam’s icons. It remains the place where visitors discover the city from above and appreciate its remarkable history and future. I’m proud to see it fully reopened for everyone to enjoy once again,” she said.
Summer events at the Euromast
With the renovation complete, the Euromast is looking ahead to a busy summer programme. Visitors can enjoy a rooftop pop-up bar until 30 August, the popular Silent Disco returns on 14 August, and the annual Stair Climb takes place on 27 September. Weekend abseiling has also returned, while Mayor Carola Schouten will take on the challenge herself on 23 July.
