Spelen bij Beelen officially opens in Rotterdam

Rotterdam-Zuid has gained a new family destination. This week, entrepreneur Wim Beelen officially opened Spelen bij Beelen, a new outdoor play park where active play, healthy choices and accessibility are at the heart of the experience.

The opening marked the start of a new chapter for Beelen, who presented his official biography on the same day. With Spelen bij Beelen, he aims to create a place where children of all backgrounds can come together and enjoy a day of adventure, without barriers or differences.

A new attraction for families in Rotterdam

Spelen bij Beelen is designed for children up to 12 years old and offers a wide range of activities focused on movement, discovery and connection. During the first phase, visitors can explore 23 attractions, including the Beelen Eye and Gigi Klim World.

The park covers a total area of 70,000 square metres, with 35,000 square metres now open to the public. Over the past months, extensive renovations have transformed the site, including new infrastructure, improved accessibility, updated safety systems, new facilities and a redesigned visitor experience.

The park has been fully adapted for visitors with wheelchairs and strollers, making it a welcoming destination for families of all kinds.

A place where every child can play

The vision behind Spelen bij Beelen is simple: every child should be able to enjoy a fun day out on equal terms. That is why the park deliberately does not offer VIP areas or exclusive experiences.

The focus is on shared experiences, outdoor play and creating memories together.

Healthy and affordable food with Eten bij Beelen

Alongside the play park, Beelen has introduced Eten bij Beelen, a new food concept focused on healthier and affordable options for children.

All products are available for €1, including fresh vegetables, natural juices and specially developed vegetable snacks. Ingredients are partly sourced from Beelen’s own 35-hectare organic farm in Houten.

To reduce waste, every visitor receives a reusable cup that can be refilled throughout the day with free drinking water. The initiative also aims to reduce the use of disposable plastics.

Wim Beelen’s biography supports children’s initiatives

The opening of Spelen bij Beelen coincided with the launch of Wim Beelen’s official biography. In the book, the entrepreneur shares his personal journey, from his career in demolition and real estate to his changing views on success, purpose and social responsibility.

All proceeds from the biography will go directly to Het Kind van Nu, a charity focused on supporting children.

A new family destination in Rotterdam-Zuid

With Spelen bij Beelen, Rotterdam welcomes a new place for families to play, connect and spend time together. Combining outdoor adventure, healthy food and an inclusive atmosphere, the park aims to become one of the city’s newest family attractions.

Spelen bij Beelen is now open in Rotterdam-Zuid. Visitors can reserve their tickets online via the official website.
