Wereldhavendagen Rotterdam 2026

One of Rotterdam’s biggest annual events is returning this September. From 4 to 6 September 2026, the 49th edition of the Wereldhavendagen (World Port Days) will once again transform the banks of the River Maas into a vibrant celebration.

Every year, around 400,000 visitors attend the three-day event to experience the harbour up close. This will be done through spectacular demonstrations, guided tours, live entertainment and exclusive access to areas that are normally closed to the public.

Discover the Port of Rotterdam from a new perspective

The Wereldhavendagen offer a unique opportunity to explore one of the world’s largest and most innovative ports. Dozens of maritime companies, organisations and port professionals showcase how the port operates today while looking ahead to a more sustainable future.

Visitors can learn about the industries that keep Rotterdam moving and discover how the harbour continues to innovate in areas such as energy transition, logistics and digital technology.

Explore themed areas across the waterfront

Throughout the event, several themed zones highlight different aspects of life in and around the port.

Besides this, visitors can explore areas dedicated to innovation, safety, sustainability and the people who work in the harbour every day. Highlights include the Innovation Quay, Marines Village, Rijnmond Safety Square, Customs Area and the Liveable Port zone, where interactive exhibits and demonstrations provide insight into the future of Europe’s largest seaport.

Spectacular shows on land, water and in the air

A visit to the Wereldhavendagen wouldn’t be complete without the impressive programme of live demonstrations.

Throughout the weekend, visitors can enjoy maritime displays on the river. Think of aerial performances, rescue demonstrations and opportunities to step aboard a variety of vessels. Moreover, many of the popular harbour excursions also return. Offering exclusive behind-the-scenes access to terminals and port facilities that are normally off-limits are also part of the programm.

On Saturday evening, the festivities culminate with the traditional evening show, featuring live entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display over the River Maas.

Food, culture and local makers

Additionally, visitors can enjoy a wide range of food and entertainment. Several food plazas offer local and international cuisine, while the Rotterdam Makers Market showcases creative entrepreneurs and local products.

The Culture Square adds live performances and cultural activities, making the event an enjoyable day out for families, tourists and Rotterdam residents alike.
