Rotterdam prepares for the surprising world of “lost packages”

After previous successes in Utrecht, Eindhoven, Tilburg, and Amstelveen, the popular phenomenon of "lost packages" is now returning to Rotterdam. At the Alexandrium Shopping Center, the French company King Colis is opening a temporary pop-up store brimming with mystery, surprises, and unique finds. From Tuesday, October 28, to Sunday, November 2, visitors can immerse themselves in this unique shopping experience.



The pop-up is an initiative of the French company King Colis, which is committed to combating the waste of lost packages. Instead of being destroyed, these packages are given a second life and form the basis for a true treasure hunt. More than 10 tons of packages are ready for curious visitors to discover and purchase. The selection is enormous: from high-tech products and designer clothing to watches, leather goods, games, and beauty products. The packages are sold by weight, giving everyone the chance to make unique finds at a fair price.

“Not knowing what you’re buying is part of the fun,” says CEO and co-founder Killian Denis. “Whether it’s a hair straightener or a pair of sneakers, it’s always exciting. Many visitors even save it until home, making it a real unboxing experience.”

How does it work?
Visitors have 10 minutes to select packages in the store.
Opening the packages before purchase is prohibited. The packages are sold by weight:
The price per 100 grams for "standard" packages is €1.99.
The price per 100 grams for "premium" packages is €2.79.
An eco-responsible approach
Millions of packages ordered online are lost every year, often due to incorrect address information. While in the past these shipments were routinely destroyed by the logistics companies responsible for delivery after the customer was refunded, King Colis is taking a different approach.

The French start-up King Colis is breaking this waste by buying up the packages and giving them a new life – online through their website or during special events in well-known shopping malls across Europe. An eco-responsible approach that allows a large audience to make a positive impact, make surprising discoveries, and simultaneously reduce the ecological footprint caused by waste.
