National Geographic presents Colors of the World on SS Rotterdam

A new beautiful photo exhibition on the SS Rotterdam allows visitors look at our planet in a new way. National Geographic Colors of the World shows the fascinating experience of colour in photography from July 1 to August 28.

It shows how colors determine the character of photographs. This phenomenon is shown with beautiful photography. In this exhibition the perception, meaning and symbolism of colors are presented. Color is a force that moves and motivates, relaxes and reassures, excites and fascinates. These shades are constantly evolving. From the hazy, early morning calm of a blue lake beginning to reflect the soft orange of a rising sun, to the green moss on a forest floor growing into a rich canopy of brown, red and gold leaves. Colors can be powerful and subtle, whether it is the graceful red of a ladybugs shield or the blinding colors of the northern lights against a pristine, icy background. The exhibition consists of work by top photographers such as Steve McCurry, Brian J. Skerry and George F. Mobley.

With this exhibition the organizers hope to redirect human ambivalence toward color into a sense of awe and disbelief. Color-bombarded advertisements, clothing and technology overwhelms society. These photographs allow to take a step back and rediscover the importance and significance of color in the world.
