Weelde opens Amore at Tiendplein

The Tiendplein will soon be welcoming Amore, an exciting distinctive bar for a full evening out. The founders behind Weelde created this brand new concept to explore with shared dining, an extensive drinks menu, and a small dance floor.

Amore is the brainchild of CLUB K, a creative agency founded by Kim Pieters and Kelly Vincent. They create experiences in which art, performance, and music come together. The team is most famous for Weelde, a two-hectare cultural free state in the Merwe-Vierhavens area in Rotterdam-West. But they also initiated De Geheime Tuin, a traveling festival concept at secret locations in the city. Pieters and Vincent have always dreamed of having their own bar, and now they are fulfilling this with Amore.

The new spot is right across from Marseille, in the former Holy Smoke. The building contains two small floors, a large interior space, and a terrace with 160 seats. Enjoyment, celebrating life, and taking time is paramount here, with Italian food customs and lifestyle as inspiration.

Pieters explains: “After two years of austerity and crisis, it’s time for a counterweight of excess and more: (a)more is more. We are creating an extravagant restobar where you will discover new things each time. A place for people who are looking for a complete night out, but don’t want to be at the club until six in the morning. And if it does turn into a party, we’ve got all the right resources for that. It may get out of hand,” says Pieters.

The date of the official opening will be announced later.
