Thuisbezorgd is of course best known for delivering meals, but for some time it has been offering daily groceries as well. Now items from Blokker convenience stores can be ordered through the Thuisbezorgd-app. The article is then taken directly from the warehouse of a local Blokker store and delivered to the customer.
Blokker has a network of more than 400 stores in the Netherlands. Five stores in Rotterdam are connected to the Thuisbezorgd platform as a trial. “Thuisbezorgd.nl is leading in the very fast delivery of meals and groceries. Through this cooperation, we expect to appeal to a whole new group of customers. A group that doesn’t want to or can’t wait a day for their package. That could be a lunchbox for the first day of school or a vacuum cleaner bag that runs out when it’s just not convenient,” said Jeanine Holscher, CEO of Blokker.
“This collaboration fits in very well with our omnichannel strategy and it is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the wishes of our customers.”
“After successfully joining appealing supermarket formulas such as Albert Heijn, SPAR and PLUS we hope that the pilot with Blokker will give us insights into how consumers experience the non-food category as an addition to our broad offering,” says Gijs Weterings, Country Director of Thuisbezorgd.nl. “We focus on products that complement every possible dining moment in the day. Whether it’s breakfast plates, storage boxes for lunch leftovers, or pans and other cooking utensils for dinner. All orders are delivered by our delivery drivers by (electric) bicycle delivered home.”
The trial between Blokker and Thuisbezorgd will run at least until the end of the year. If successful, the trial will be expanded to more locations.
