Step aboard history: Nao Victoria visits Rotterdam for the first time

This August, Rotterdam will welcome an extraordinary visitor to the Veerhaven: the Nao Victoria, a faithful replica of the first ship to ever circumnavigate the globe. From August 6 to 10, this magnificent vessel will open its decks to the public, offering a unique opportunity to experience life on board a true maritime icon.

Between its creaking wooden planks, the Nao Victoria preserves the story of one of the greatest nautical achievements in history. Visitors will be able to see, touch, and explore how real sailors once lived, navigated, and braved the vast oceans centuries ago. This floating museum brings to life the skills, courage, and resilience that made such a world-changing voyage possible.

The ship will be moored at the Veerhaven and can be visited daily from 10:00 to 20:00. Tickets are available for £8 for adults, £4 for children between 5 and 10 years, and £20 for families (two adults and up to three children aged 5–10). Children under five enter for free, accompanied by an adult. Schools and associations are also welcome, with special rates of £4 per child (with one teacher free per ten children), and £8 for those over ten years old.

Tickets can be purchased online at tickets.fundacionnaovictoria.org or directly at the ship. Schools and group organizers can plan their visit by emailing ecampos@fundacionnaovictoria.org.

For anyone seeking an even more memorable adventure, there are limited spots to actually sail aboard the Nao Victoria, arranged through www.tallshipexperience.com.

Do not miss this unique chance to stand on the deck of a ship that changed the world — and relive the age of great maritime exploration, right in the heart of Rotterdam.
