Inside Rotterdam Tastochlief

Tastochlief, a goodie bag to get to know Rotterdam

Robin Achterkamp is the owner of Berry’s, a lunchroom in the Lloydkwartier with a spectacular view and popular among the locals. Although Berry’s has a delivery service, Covid-19 had quite an impact on the business. Achterkamp decided to take action and introduced Tastochlief. A bag full of discount coupons and other items from Rotterdam entrepreneurs.

That way he helps other entrepreneurs to generate turnover. The first edition was a success. Various suppliers and fellow entrepreneurs sponsored coupons, delicacies, and products to put in the fair trade tote bag which is designed by Larissa Bellissima. The first batch was sold out a couple of weeks ago but the next edition is now available already.

They love Tastochlief

The name Tastochlief is a worldplay on ‘Dat is toch lief’ which means: ‘That’s so nice’. But you can also translate it like: ‘Bag full of love’ because of the pronunciation of locals. And well. A lot of businesses would like to spread the love once again. The second edition
is filled with stuff from well-known companies.

When you buy the goodie bag you get discount coupons for Miniworld Rotterdam, the SS Rotterdam, Plaswijckpark, the Workoutclub, Old bay Rotterdam, Around010 events, Dots design, clothing brand ZeroTen City and Daily’s among others. There is a voucher to visit the Euromast, a Gers Magazine, a Rot-bot illustration by Rotterdam artist Stephan Brussche, a pin-up birthday calendar and postcards from Geronimo Cards. Derek Otte wrote several poems which are printed on cards and author Bronja Hoffschlag offers a thriller.

As Robin says so himself: ”If you buy our bag you support a lot of real Rotterdam companies and you will also receive countless discount vouchers from our heroes (participating businesses) in addition to cool Rotterdam stuff and a Gerse bag. So do you want to discover and support Rotterdam this summer? Buy that bag!”

In addition to the goal of keeping small and medium-sized companies alive, there is also a social goal. That goal is to help young troubled people with internships and workplaces. At Berry’s Robin also works together with the Employee Insurance Agency to help youngsters with disadvantages to get the opportunity to work.
