Winnen opend VondelGym Rotterdam

Winne will open a Vondelgym in the World Trade Center Rotterdam

Already a household name in Amsterdam. VondelGym is the brainchild of Arie Boomsma, a Dutch tv-personality, and together with the famous local rapper Winne he will open a gym in the basement of WTC Rotterdam at the Meent.

Vondelgym was started in 2015 by Arie Boomsma and a number of friends. Various disciplines such as CrossFit, kickboxing, yoga, running, and fitness were brought under one roof. A gym with the feeling of a sports club. In the new location in the city center of Rotterdam, there will also be hot yoga.

The Rotterdam location is the fourth Vondelgym in the Netherlands. Winston Bergwijn, better known as Winne, will operate the gym. Winston Bergwijn: “Vondelgym has touched my life in different ways. The love for sports but also the social role that such a gym plays in the city. The gym as a community where people from all backgrounds come together to work on their physical and mental health. If we’ve learned anything in the past year, it’s how important good health is. It feels good to be able to take this step now in my own city.”

Arie Boomsma: ”Winne breathes Vondelgym. He is an ironman with a social heart. A real bridge builder who understands that such a gym is so much more than a gym for the city. I consider it an honor that he is now starting a Vondelgym in Rotterdam. I say that as a friend, as a fan, and as a business partner.”

VondelGym by Winne

Winne is one of the most renowned rappers in the city. For almost 15 years he has been an artist representing true hip-hop and Rotterdam. He definitely is considered a founder of the Dutch hip-hop scene and has been an inspiration for new talent for years. Last year he dropped ‘So So Lobi 2’, an album full of love. ”This album contributes to the realization of how important our time here is. How important our family and friends are, and our mental health. That’s what’s important. All that other shit is just an illusion. Love, and especially the connection is important.”

WTC also welcomes new hotel and restaurant

WTC is a national monument and already had some new exciting stuff happening. Postillion already operated the Convention Center and opened a hotel in the monumental building earlier this year and Brasserie Jules (an initiative by Brasserie Pierre) opened its doors earlier this summer.
