Rechtstreex makes it possible to buy your groceries from local farmers, growers and producers. Order online and collect the groceries at pickup points in several neighbourhoods.
Rechtstreex operates from the Keilepand. It offers a weekly seasonal assortment from the region so consumers can buy orders at a fair price from farmers. Without unnecessary intermediaries and with as little food miles, packaging and waste as possible.
The local grocery service now launches a new crowdfunding campaign whereby consumers can buy shares in the company: ”We want to offer everyone the chance to become a part-owner and grow with us in the coming years,” says founder Maarten Bouten. ”It feels like a logical step to ask our engaged community not only to invest in the local food chain. But also to let them share in our future profits and growth.”
Rechtstreex is going for the high target amount of €250,000 and a minimum investment of €250 for this crowdfunding. Bouten: ‘This way, everyone who wants to can contribute to a sustainable future.”
In 2020 and 2021, Rechtstreex expanded its logistics capacity and strengthened its organisation. Partly thanks to an investment from Ifund and a successful crowdfunding campaign. The company opened a second distribution centre and the home delivery service is expanded. A larger part of South Holland is now supplied with local products.
Next year, Rechtstreex will expand further by making targeted investments: ”We want to shorten the ordering time, improve the website, launch a handy app and grow from 60 to 80 pick-up points. In addition, we want to be able to pay our suppliers faster and, together with them and our community, take steps towards making our food system more sustainable.”
