Rotterdam-based MINGO is a popular children’s clothing brand in the Netherlands and Germany. In order to grow MINGO has started crowdfunding. Among other things, the funding will be used to develop a teen line and open a physical location. The ultimate goal is to raise 75,000 euros. It’s still possible to invest.
The sustainable clothing brand was founded in 2014 by Naomi de Kuiper, with a mission to create comfortable children’s clothing made of sustainable and quality fabrics produced under fair conditions. “When my daughter was two years old, I noticed that there was little beautiful basic children’s clothing to be found in the Netherlands. I really liked the Scandinavian clothing style: minimalist, sustainable, and timeless. I wanted to bring that to the Netherlands as well,” explains Kuiper.
Contact with the community is very important for the children’s clothing brand: “Personal contact with the customers is what I love about entrepreneurship,” says de Kuiper. Currently, MINGO has built a loyal fan base in both the Netherlands and Germany and is ready for the next step: designing a teen line and opening a physical location. She has found a perfect spot in the Hofbogen.
In order to realize these steps, funding is needed. De Kuiper ultimately chose to do this through crowdfunding: “We already got so many nice responses so we are very confident to reach the minimum target.”
