Ijsvrij Park Festival

A romantic & intimate festival with mesmirising lights right next to the Euromast!

This year is the 2nd edition of IJsvrij Park Festival, and will be hosting an extensive range of events and activities for you to enjoy. In addition to skating with friends, family and colleagues, visitors can also enjoy numerous activities and performances in and around the Ijsvrij Café in Het Park next to the Euromast. IJsvrij is a cosy festival full of lights and will be the place to go this winter. Sure enough, there’s plenty to do – for young and old – and also for non-skaters!

A change from last year
The well-known, familiar and popular IJsvrij-Café is heated this year by means of wood stoves – for mulled wine, stew and cosying up under a blanket. Also the perfect place for the annual Christmas or New Year’s drinks with family, friends and colleagues. Last year the festival was fully booked every day, which is why the IJsvrij Park Festival is open for a week longer.

Programme
The heated IJsvrij-Café offers almost daily activities for young and old: Mondays are all about coming together, meeting each other. Making a cake, knitting with friends or playing games. Tuesdays and Thursdays are the days for fanatics, fighting together, not only on the track, but also during Old Dutch games. Wednesdays are for the creatives, make your own crafts for Sinterklaas or Christmas.

During Friday evenings, 7 and 28 December, there will be a Silent Disco on the ice rink. The Saturdays and Sundays are for live music. Expect names like Groovy Gents, Bronco Brothers, Goeie Gasten and Trio Lulu Swing. In short, music, skating, eating, drinking and winter games (what more could you want?)

Opening Night!
The Dutch short tracker and 5 times European Champion, Yara van Kerkhof, and her sister, former short tracker Sanne van Kerkhof will open Ijsvrij Park Festival on Friday 30 November from 4pm. They will compete against each other on the ice rink, so come down and watch this exciting event!

Yara van Kerkhof won five gold medals in her career on the 3000 metre relay during the European Short Track Championships. During the Olympic Winter Games 2018 in Pyeongchang, South Korea, she won a silver medal in the 500 metres and became the first Dutch medalist in the women’s short track. Sanne van Kerkhof is 4 times European Champion and won the World Cup once, also at the 3000 meter relay.

The site is accessible to everyone. Children up to 12 years of age can skate for € 3.50 and adult tickets cost € 5.00. Skate hire costs € 2.50.
