House Rotterdam

How to find a house in Rotterdam?

International students and expats are coming to Rotterdam again as they are not restrained by travel restrictions anymore. But where to live. Because of new rules by the municipality, sharing a house from now on is generally only possible by a maximum of two unrelated persons. As a result, there is a shortage of living space.

Fortunately, new residential complexes are being built. Recently projects like Little C, Startmotor, De Groene Kaap and The Terraced Tower have been completed and added a lot of rental apartments. Soon 612 rental apartments and studios will become available in OurDomian, a beautiful 24 story-high building.

A house in OurDomain

OurDomain will offer beautiful and modern homes in the heart of the city. Located near Blaak Station, on the banks of the Maas river, OurDomain Rotterdam Blaak is made up of a vibrant community of ambitious and lively students and promising young professionals that appreciate a modern, comfortable and connected way of living. There are furnished studios and one-bedroom apartments for young professionals and students looking for an extended or short-term stay.

All residents benefit from excellent shared facilities and services such as a Service Desk, flexible study- and workspaces, meeting rooms, lounges, a music room and a cinema room. The sky lounge, gym, and terrace are situated on the 24th floor and offer stunning views of the skyline of Rotterdam.

Rental agencies to the rescue

But of course, these new projects only solve part of the problem and mostly cater to a younger audience. There is also the possibility of renting a house using a rental agent. There are a lot. One of the most renowned is Riva Rentals (verhuurmakelaar Rotterdam).  It’s a leading office offering expat and student housing in Rotterdam with a durable and high-quality portfolio of properties (furnished and decorated)  all over the city.

Rotterdam Expat Centre is the specialized one-stop shop for international businesses and expats who are looking for services and information about working and living in Rotterdam. They can explain some key things you need to know to find a house in Rotterdam also.
