DÂK is back on the roof

For a month a concrete but green parking garage in the center of Rotterdam will be transformed into a summer city park. DÂK takes place on the roof of the APCOA Parking between Westblaak and Witte de Withstraat. July 15 is the start of an event full of music, BBQs, drinks, and social gatherings 30 meters up.

The first edition of DÂK took place in 2014, on a roof in North. The last couple of editions before the pandemic hit took place on the Thornico Building in the city center. After three years it’s possible to celebrate summer in the city once again. Besides the possibility to enjoy the ultimate park vibe, the most beautiful view of Rotterdam and the summery drinks, DÂK again presents a nice mix of live music, Rotterdam DJs, various sports and games, and of course the Social BBQ. A concept where visitors can bring their own food and cook it side by side with friends and complete strangers on prepared red-hot BBQs from 5 PM!

The opening weekend, from July 15, presents a live performance by Mima’s Chio Manush Orchestra on Friday. Saturday there is Caboverdevinyl after Top and on Sunday BIRD takes over the turntables.

DÂK puts extra emphasis on sports

This summer, DÂK puts extra emphasis on sports in the open air. The gentlemen of Rond de Tafel are back with table tennis, there is a games area with Jenga XXL for example, Mooie Boules will offer petanque on a high level and there is even a bowling alley.

DÂK (July 15 – August 13) is open Tuesday to Friday from 3 PM to 11 PM, Saturday and Sunday it’s accessible from 2 PM to 11 PM. You can find the entrance at the Kromme Elleboog.
