Visit the world’s largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship

Götheborg of Sweden is the world’s largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship, an 18th century replica of the original Götheborg that sank outside of Gothenburg in 1745. May 11 it moors at the Holland Amerikakade. The ship can be visited until May 14.   

Rotterdam is a stopover for the ship en route to home port Götheborg. At the beginning of June 2023, Götheborg will return to play an important role in the 400-year jubilee of the city of Gothenburg.

On board the ship visitors can learn about the history of the Swedish East India Company and the adventures of the original Götheborg that sailed three times to Asia.

There is a station guiding on board. The ship deckhands are stationed throughout the ship to answer questions in English. The visit takes about 45 minutes to an hour.

The opening hours are:

11 May: 15:00–20:00 (last entry 19:15)
12 May: 10:00–20:00 (last entry 19:15)
13 May: 10:00–17:00 (last entry 16:15)
14 May: 12:00–16:00 (last entry 15:15)
