Vreugdenhil opens second shop in Van Vollenhovenstraat

Vreugdenhil was located on the Karel Doormanstraat for over 50 years, offering vegetables, fruit and other delicacies. In 2015 the shop relocated to Kralingen. Now there is a shop in the city center once again. The second store is located in the Van Vollenhovenstraat.

This area used to lack shops for groceries. Slowly but surely, the supply of these stores is increasing again. There is a new cheese-store Kaas aan de Maas (related to and the Wildstube also sells game. Travelling agency Buitenlandsche Zaken started offering luxurious products like soups, vegetables, fish and meat. Louise Petit Restaurant off course has delicious French delicacies and Magazijn Houtman & Menkveld also provides the better products.

Vreugdenhil will offer a wide range. Every product is tasted and purchased with care. There is fruit and vegetables, but also dairy, granola and wine. Luxury gift items like beautiful olive oil from Puur and Valderrama and various biscuits. Herbs like oregano, thyme, sage, tarragon, basil, sorrel, lovage and soups, salads, juices and and meals, daily prepared by own chefs.

The addition of more shops and new restaurants is of course a reaction to the construction of the Zalmhaven. There will be more as 500 new apartments in this new landmark. And the residents all have something to spend.
