Roffa Mon Amour Film Festival goes Brutus

Roffa Mon Amour Film Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary! From August 3 to 14, the public can enjoy a diverse programme of exceptional films from all over the world, with introductions, fringe events and Q&As at Brutus.

During this anniversary year, Roffa Mon Amour presents a series of exciting events at cool locations leading to the festive twelfth edition in August. May 19 there is a Food & Film at Paviljoen aan het Water. Every Friday in June and July there are screenings at Maaskantine.

Founder and director of Roffa Mon Amour, Lisa Smith says: “Roffa Mon Amour was founded ten years ago out of love for film. From the very beginning, we show beautiful films in special places in order to reach a new audience with something they had not seen before. And we have succeeded well. We celebrate by showing even more of ourselves. We go to local bars and restaurants, screening films with new partners. Linking up with existing city initiatives and festivals.”

In recent years, the summer film festival has shown films on roofs, on water and in open fields. This edition of the festival will once again take place at a unique location. Visitors of Roffa Mon Amour will watch films between towering works of art in the sculpture garden of Brutus, the former AVL Mundo in the creative M4H harbour area in Rotterdam West.

There are films with a social urgency, visual intelligence and a distinctive character. There is diversity in theme, genre, country of origin and equal gender distribution of makers. This year too the audience can expect a balanced programme with a film every day by old and new makers. Fringe programming and film concerts.
