The 13-person New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra (NRJO) is a force to be reckoned with in Rotterdam. The band has members like Trumpeter Rob van de Wouw, one of the leading musicians of the dutch electro-jazz scene, and Louk Boudesteijn, playing the trombone. Boudesteijn is one of the founding members of the orchestra, and one of its artistic directors. Louk Graduated from the Rotterdam Conservatory in 2002. Together these lifelong musical companions have been initiating all kinds of musical projects like the Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra in 2004.
NRJO has performed alongside national heroes like Anton Goudsmit, as well as international artists like Joshua Redman and Phronesis. They have four critically acclaimed albums to their name, all of them showing the interplay between established musicians and the upcoming generation. The groove of a cosmopolitan city like Rotterdam is never far away.
NRJO will play the Eduard Flipse Zaal from 8.30 PM November 18th. Get your tickets here.
