Father Figure door Guido Bosua 3

Father Figure inspires Choreographer Lloyd Marengo

Lloyd Marengo grew up in the raw Rotterdam of the 80s and learned to dance on the streets. 10 years after his show Father Father, he returns with the successor: Father Figure. This compact dance performance shows the struggle of 4 b-boys and a percussionist with the father figure theme.

Father Figure is a production of Lloydscompany. He achieved worldwide success with 010 B-boys. Lloyd is also one of the founders of the Hiphophuis. He worked with Scapino and Conny Janssen Danst, among others, and could be seen during the Nederlandse Dansdagen (Dutch Dance Days). With his own company, Lloyd Marengo brings dancers together. The company produces performances and thus builds a bridge between the street and the stage.

Lloyd Marengo asked Julinho Pimentel, Kevin Thompson, Nouri El Mazoughi, Oscar Starink and Pom Arnold for this new production. The music is by HAYP MUSIC (Alvin Lewis & Patrick Mijnals).

Father Figure is performed March 5 and 6 at Theater Rotterdam, location Schouwburg.
From 8 PM. Tickets: tr.nl/fatherfigure
