Het Kunstenaarsbal 5

Let’s have a Kunstenaarsbal, the official afterparty of Rotterdam Art Week

The Kunstenaarsbal will close out Rotterdam Art Week with an arty afterparty at De Doelen. On Saturday, February 11, the Kunstenaarsbal offers a unique and multidisciplinary evening and night full of visual arts, photography, performance, theatre, audiovisual art, and music.

It’s the first edition in Rotterdam and brings different generations, disciplines, and groups from all corners of society together and welcomes and celebrates the art world in all its diversity. Like previous editions in Het Tropenmuseum and Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam, the ball reflects the Dutch art scene to a wide audience.

Founder and Rotterdam resident Fela Donker (34) says: ”Through our collaboration with Rotterdam Art Week and Rotterdam Festivals, our first Rotterdam edition offers a great entry point for visitors, exhibitors and art lovers to get acquainted with art in all forms. We give both the new generation and established artists a stage and network to show their work to a wider audience without any of their own investment is required. Rotterdam Art Week did not have an official afterparty yet, so we’re thrilled we can provide this at a spectacular location like De Doelen.”

A lot of curators are already on board. The first names of the program include STRAAT Street Art Museum, Tymon de Laat, photographers Stacii Samidin, Yvette de Wit, and Nadia Bozic, and art collective AAAFRESH123. From Wednesday 8 February to Sunday 12 February, there will also be an exhibition of these and many other artists, among others, on display in the main hall of De Doelen

Bird Rotterdam will provide the musical interpretation together with Yardbird, Bound45 and more.

Tickets are now available here.
