After the success of the first Hans Klok & Friends tour there will be new shows this summer. From august 13 the illusionist once again appears next to SS Rotterdam for 13 performances.
The Dutch illusionist Hans Klok is currently preparing a new stunt. He will step into a ‘wheel of death’. This apparatus consists of a frame with two cylinders on either side that spin at breakneck speed through the ridge of the tent. ”I’m not afraid of a challenge,” says Hans. Hans Klok & Friends is the continuation of the successful tour the artist made last year. Klok continues: ”All the acts are new. The show is more spectacular than ever.”
The completely new show is created together with Festivity King. There has been substantial investment in new acts, costumes, music and technology. More than forty artists and crew are working on Hans Klok & Friends.
A recently added act is Trio Three G from Ukraine. Sofiia Tkachuk, Olena Vykhovanets and Dana Karpovych show amazing handstand acrobatics in a sophisticated choreography. The trio will come to the Netherlands via Germany, where they have performed before. Klok: ”The act belongs to the absolute world top. These ladies have worked together since childhood and have developed an act that has thrilled audiences in many countries. Lately especially in Germany. Trio Three G combines a sensual presentation with power, beauty, aesthetics and a unique balancing act, says the illusionist. It is a nice change in my show, which is full of spectacle. I hope that after the summer the situation in Ukraine will have calmed down. Not only for our artists but of course for the whole population in the country.”
Hans doesn’t shy away from a little danger. ”My friend Dann is less happy about it. I just asked him to marry me and I want to make it to the ceremony of course,” says Klok. ”But I want to surprise my audience. And not only with this stunt. I have created new illusions which will be interspersed with spectacles by guest artists. The Wheel of Death is an example of this and is coming from Colombia to the Netherlands, especially for the new tour.”
Hans Klok & Friends is a thriller
The acrobats will train intensively together with Hans. ”We limit the risks as much as possible. It’s incredible what these guys do. That act is a thriller. As more acts in Hans Klok & Friends are. We also have a spectacular number on a steel cable stretched eight metres above the stage. Acrobats run over it. Without a safety net.”
Klok further explains: ”My goal is to leave people behind in absolute amazement. A firework of illusions will be presented at breakneck speed. I also bring a number of calmer acts where dexterity is central.” Hans is once again working with his Divas of Magic who will provide the necessary glamour. ”The show will be better than ever with many illusions that have never been shown before”, says the artist confidently. ”I am really looking forward to touring the Netherlands again with Hans Klok & Friends.”
