Versatile Forever is a winner of the DOEN Textile Call 2022

DOEN Foundation has awarded five startups that are accelerating the transition to a circular and fair textile industry with their business models. Versatile Forever from Rotterdam is one of the selected companies and gets 50,000 euros to help grow the business.

It’s located at The Wasserij and aims to warp the design- and production process of fashion and make upcycling the new norm. The designs are created from existing textiles and the garment is produced locally. The brand offers oversized sweaters made from scarfs from football clubs or swimwear made from football jerseys.

The selection committee consisted of Mariette Hoitink (House of Denim and HTNL), Edson Sabajo (Patta) and Thami Schweichler (Makers Unite). A total of 123 textile entrepreneurs participated in the DOEN Textielcall. The jury said this about Versatile Forever: “You can immediately see that it is circular: it is scalable and also dope.”
