Beers & Barrels Rotterdam

Beers & Barrels is open at Weena

Beers & Barrels serves burgers, steaks and tasty surf & turf dishes together with a good beer or cocktail. The ideal place for a pleasant after-work drink, lunch of dinner. There now is a new location at Central Plaza at the Weena in the former spot of Mad Mick’s Breakaway Café.

The new bar is equipped with several high tables and booths with a tap. Groups can sit there. The beer is weighed and you pay per kilogram. The tap tables are ideally suited for a birthday, staff outing, team outing and of course just a fun night out. There is also a speakeasy cocktail bar. From the kitchen comes a high-quality selection of (dry-age) meat dishes and surprising vega(n) dishes.

With the opening of Beers & Barrels Rotterdam the catering group Restaurant Company Europe (RCE), to which Beers & Barrels belongs, gives a new interpretation to the striking corner building on the Weena. ”The past few months a lot of hard work has been put in to create a crazy new place, where both beer lovers and real cocktail-lovers will feel at home,” says Sandra van Halderen (CEO of RCE).

Rebranding of Beers & Barrels

This fourth Beers & Barrels location is not a copy-pasted of the three existing Beers & Barrels locations in Utrecht and Breda. The catering formula has recently undergone a major restyling. There now is a more refined and mature layer to the robust character. The logo and branding have also been renewed. Rotterdam is the first location with this new style.

Van Halderen continues: ”Of course, Rotterdam also has the recognizable thorough character of Beers & Barrels. Here, for example, guests will find smaller booths where they can tap their own beer in a more intimate setting.  Eyecatchers such as the dry-age cabinets and the iconic barrel room are also present. We are also very proud of our speakeasy cocktail bar, named The Serpent. Here we will be serving amazing cocktails. With botanical influences and really different from what our regular guests are used to.”

With the restyling, Beers & Barrels aims to appeal to a broader target group. The time of a stereotypical focus on beer mugs and meat is behind them. Even if you are not a beer drinker or if you’re in the mood for a tasty veggie dish, it’s the perfect place for lunch, an extensive dinner, or a cosy after-work drink until the early hours.
