BullyBully by Kamerich Budwilowitz

BullyBully is a musical about childish grown-up men

At the moment you can imagine some presidents screaming furiously until they get what they want. A lot of politicians behave like toddlers, so Maas Theater and Dance has made BullyBully, a musical about the similarities between toddlers and certain world leaders.

If you look at a speeching toddler and an adult in a suit talking nonsense, you may hardly see the difference. Of course, one of them has a say in everything while the other has to do everything they’re being told.

BullyBully gives the audience insight into the collision of two world powers that, eventually, learn to meet in the middle. Politics at the kindergarten and childishness amongst serious and powerful grown-ups. The fairytale offers two performers, many songs, funny quarrels, a bit of bickering, and, eventually, a happy ending.

BullyBully will be performed at Theater Zuidplein on Sunday, April 17, Maas’ own theater, the Maaspodium, is the decor on Saturday, May 7, and Sunday, May 8.

Maas Theater and Dance

BullyBully is a new performance for toddlers by RenΓ© Geerlings for Maas Theater and Dance. This theatermaker has already managed to get thousands of toddlers and parents on the edge of their seats. He has the artistic supervision of Maas. A theater and company made up of professional makers. Creating theater- and dance experiences for children, teenagers, young adults, and their family and friends. This highly eager, bold, and vulnerable target audience is always at the heart of the performances and talent development projects.

The company Maas Theater and Dance creates high-quality theater and dance performances of all shapes and sizes. From large-scale productions and school projects suited for the classroom environment, all the way down to small-scale festival acts and local theater. One thing that all these productions have in common is the solid connection between the audience and the on-stage performers. productions can appear anywhere: in Rotterdam, or in large and medium-sized cities all over The Netherlands, Belgium, or even further across borders like in Turkey. BullyBully is plays at the Atta Festival.
