The Joint Pizza Pepperoni in box

The Joint Pizza Bar opens in Foodhallen

The local chef Per de Man is known for the Indonesian eatery De Toko, but he also has a love for pizza. He has been developing a New York-style pizza with a Rotterdam base, thinly crusted and crispy. At The Joint Pizza Bar in the Foodhallen his creations are served.

The recipes of the unique pizzas originate from the old pizza tradition but are also recalcitrant enough for crazy experiments. Classics like pepperoni and spicy meatball are part of the menu. But Pizza Nduja and Pizza Hawaii also have a place.

The Joint is a place that is accessible to all. It is a place where good times and a good bite come together. Besides pizzas, the Joint is setting up a hot sauce line in collaboration with Noordt Brewery and merchandise will be available. A lot of collaborations are expected.

The Joint was established when Per de Man went looking for a new location for De Toko. He checked the Foodhallen but there was no place for another Asian outlet. But there was a place for a pizzeria. Per seized the opportunity. Ever since before he worked in the kitchen at Tiki’s, he had been dreaming of his own pizza joint. He flew to New York for inspiration in 2017. It resulted in Per’s Deli. Now, almost five years later he fulfills his boyhood dream.

The Joint is open from February 24 at Wilhelminakade 58.
