Rotterdam is known for a couple of good cocktail places like Calaboose, Botanero, Williams Canteen, NY Basement and speakeasy Dr. But because of Covid-19 a lot of people want to learn how to make a good cocktail at home. The Holy now offers the perfect place to get educated in a true speakeasy.
Making a good cocktail involves skills and knowledge of the right ingredients, creating the right flavor, and specific preparation techniques. The Holy offers exactly that during their workshops at their secret location, a place of your choice, or online.
The underground bar is located in the center of Rotterdam near the Witte de Withstraat and you’ll receive the specific location after booking a workshop or a Roaring Twenties party. The Holy brings back the Prohibition, with secret passwords, underground cellars and a touch of lawlessness. Once inside the professional bartenders will be happy to teach all the tricks of the trade.
It’s also possible to celebrate a Roaring twenties cocktail party at the hidden gem. Flappers, gangsters and bootleggers enjoyed themselves in secret behind the closed doors of the speakeasies. The atmosphere was sensual and electric. Underground clubs pulsated with ragtime and the music of Cab Calloway, Al Jolson and Louis Armstrong. Women adorned in headgear with feathers and pearls kicked up the frills of their glittering dresses as they danced. Men with pinstriped suits and thin moustaches drank cocktails and smoked fine cigars, despite the alcohol bans.
The Holy on location
It’s also possible to invite the bartender at home, the office, or another location. In consultation, it will be determined which cocktails will be made. The workshop takes about 2 hours and 2 cocktails will be prepared.
It’s also possible to order a Cocktail Box and during an online cocktail workshop, the participants will learn how to make cocktails easily. The Cocktail Box consists of an exclusive cocktail set in an attractive box and all of the tools and ingredients required to make the cocktails. The Holy founders
The founders of ‘The Holy’ spirits, cocktails & workshops are mister Groeneweg and mister Van Schaik. Both are free spirits with a love for style and cocktails. They met each other during a charity after which they joined forces. They combine years of working in (digital) media and creating authentic experiences. Their goal is to provide great flavours, beautiful cocktails, and sublime experiences.
