The steamship (ss) Rotterdam made her first journey to New York on 3 September 1959. Nowadays she is permanently moored as a hotel and restaurant. But the ‘good old times’ of the great cruises live on, especially in the Ocean Bar, which is built in the shape of a wave. Apple Pie Mojito, Watermelon Cosmopolitan…there are cocktails to be enjoyed on board. One of the special attractions of this bar is its chairs, positioned grandly alongside its windows. The perfect place to spend the evening gazing at the stars and the city lights.

Miniworld is a unique experience. The Dutch landscape and the modern and historic architecture of the city of Rotterdam are presented in miniature. In the attraction a day lasts 24 minutes. Before you know it, night will fall and thousands of tiny lights will light up the darkness. As day breaks, the 27,000 residents awake as their world comes to life. Trains speed to their destinations and lorries bring their loads to and from Europe’s largest miniature port.
