Rotterdam gets new underground nightclub: Export

In November, Rotterdam's new underground nightclub, Export, will open in the basement of the Keilepand. It will be a club with a 24-hour permit, bringing together established artists and organizations with new talent from the city. This new chapter in Rotterdam's nightlife is desperately needed after the closure of several clubs. Last week, the club's organizers launched a crowdfunding campaign to secure the budget.

Building Together with the Community
Renovations have begun, and the organization is being supported by the community. From the WhatsApp community established by the organization, with more than 100 volunteers, around 5 to 10 people come to help every week.

On September 1st, the final preparation phase began; Export launched a crowdfunding campaign to close the last gap in the budget. With the help of everyone who cares about the night, the organization can ensure the club is completed. The crowdfunding campaign provides the necessary budget for DJ gear, speakers, and furnishings.

A breath of fresh air in Rotterdam
Export isn't playing it safe. From local talent to the international underground: the lineups will be as diverse and unpredictable as the city itself. The soft, funky interior breaks with the concrete walls so the space isn't just for one type of night owl. The lighting plan features custom-made lamps by local Rotterdam light artists.

"Rotterdam's nightlife has taken so many hits lately. With a new club, we hope to create a place where the Rotterdam scene can reunite, where the nightlife experience is paramount, and where the sound is great," say the founders.
