Shirma Rouse brings Hoop en Liefde to Luxor

Shirma Rouse is considered one of the best soul singers in the Netherlands. The Rotterdam-based artist made a name as a backing vocalist with Chaka Khan, Michael Bolton, Alain Clark, Candy Dulfer and Anouk. Anouk represented the Netherlands in 2013 at the Eurovision Song Contest. Shirma Rouse was proclaimed as best backing vocal by The Eurovision Times.

Nowadays she has her own TV show and released several albums. Her album Shout It Out Loud, was awarded an Edison Jazzism Audience Award. In her new show Hoop en Liefde (Hope and Love), she brings a musical journey consisting of a repertoire of her own songs, but she also covers artists like Aretha Franklin.

She plays Oude Luxor on Sunday, November 27.
