Rotterdam Corona - Marja Suur

How does Rotterdam cope with Corona?

Marja Suur is co-owner of Suur & Company, a leading executive search firm in the healthcare sector. But she is also an avid photographer. She photographed more than 190 people from Rotterdam during Corona.

Those pictures are now collected in a historical and impressive photo book about Rotterdam in corona time. The title is Rotterdam Corona – Wij zijn Rotterdammers, wij houden vol! This translates in: We are from Rotterdam, we persevere!

It’s a special reference work that counts 304 pages of a time that will stay in our memory forever. For the book Marja Suur photographed more than 190 Rotterdammers. Twenty Rotterdam organisations also cooperated on the book in a heart-warming manner. From Erasmus MC to Blijdorp Zoo, from Albeda College to Feyenoord. Naturally, the book is accompanied by a catchy foreword by Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb.

Marja Suur recently handed over the very first copy of her photobook to none other than Diederik Gommers and Ernst Kuipers at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam.

Friends of Sophia Foundation

Marja Suur financed herself and she donates the entire profit to the Friends of Sophia Foundation. She started her career at Sophia Childrens Hospital.

In her spare time, photography is her passion and an important part of her life. Her preference goes out to photographing everything that has to do with Rotterdam, both documentary photography and portraits of people and animals.  Some of these photos can be seen at her site.
