wikkelboats rijnhaven fest

Wikkelboats officially presented during Rijnhaven Fest

Although the Wikkelboats already can be found at the Rijnhaven for over a year, there hasn’t been an official launch. On Sunday 19 June this will happen during the first edition of Rijnhaven Fest.

In the Rijnhaven a floating park is in development. Ultimately all sections will be connected by footpaths, which will allow for a circular route around and across the water. On June 19 the first section will be opened of the Rijnhaven by alderman Bas Kurvers. The ceremony takes place between 1 AM and 2 AM. Thereafter the wikkelboats can be visited and other activities take place at the jetty.

Of course, there will be snacks and drinks by Kaapse Brouwers, free ice creams and competitions for children. There are various musical performances and other entertainment on the floating park and the quay. It’s possible to experience the Rijnhaven by water: on one of the cool Schiller pedal boats, on a SUP, a canoe, or a kayak. Lifeguards will be present to secure a safe situation.

Rijnhaven Fest take place between 1 AM and 5 AM.
