Record Store Day at Velvet Music and Plaatboef

Record Store Day was conceived in 2007 to celebrate the unique culture of independently owned record stores. Artists participated by releasing music on vinyl for this day only and performing at the stores. Saturday, April 23, there is a new edition. Plaatboef at Nieuwe Binnenweg and both Velvet Music stores at the Oude Binnenweg and in Donner sell the records and host concerts.

At Plaatboef there will be shows by Tusky and Banner. More acts will be announced.

Velvet at Oude Binnenweg presents Vic Willems, Nambyar, Gregory Page, Future Husband, and Indian Askin.

There is also a Velvet music store in Donner, the big bookstore at the Coolsingel. First Remy van Kesteren plays at 1 PM. He plays pop with a harp. Next is BRUUT! This ensemble of four, including Parttime Rotterdammer Bejamin Herman, serves jazz infused with surfrock, boogaloo, hardrock and other kinds of music.
