Save bees while eating chocolate!
Do you know what happens when two typical Rotterdammers come together to talk about their love of local products? Since the port of Rotterdam is one of the largest entry points of cocoa, they decide that Rotterdam needs its own chocolate bar! Pure Rotterdam has to contain a typically Rotterdam ingredient of course and some of the tastiest honey in Rotterdam comes from the bee colonies on the DakAkker above the Schieblock. This honey is added to the chocolate bar, along with almonds, fudge and a grain of salt. Because the bee is threatened, apart of the purchase from every chocolate gift goes towards buying native seeds to improve the living environment of the Rotterdam bee.
