Marvy Green Balcony Box

Marvy Green delivers ready to use balcony boxes at home

Marvy Green wants to make the city greener. The Rotterdam-based company developed a shipping box that makes it possible to have plant-filled balcony boxes delivered to your homes, ready for use immediately.

Since their start last year, Winfried de Coo and Lieke van Wilpen have been working together to make urban greening more accessible and to stimulate biodiversity. The most important tool they use is the ready-made balcony box, equipped with a water reservoir and filled with evergreen and hardy plants.

The ready-made balcony planters could only be collected from the shop in Rotterdam at the Zwaanshals. They tried and tested and after a year they developed a way to send balcony planters by post. To ensure that dispatch is foolproof, a special dispatch box has been developed with a unique design, in which the balcony planter and the plants are fixed. After receiving plants by post, it is now also possible to receive filled balcony boxes by post. This brings the garden centre closer, especially for people without cars.

The process is simple. In the webshop, customers can choose the size and color of their balcony planter. Then they can select the plants they would like. Within three working days, the filled balcony planter arrives.

For short distances, Marvy Green has joined forces with PIKE, also from Rotterdam. A start-up in parcel delivery that delivers goods with an electric (delivery) bike.

A Marvy Green empire

The goal of Marvy Green is to open shops in all major cities of the Netherlands in the long term. To stimulate green developments on a local level everywhere.
