We are experimenting with new concepts for an open-minded audience. Later in the evening, without intermission, there will be an afterparty. The orchestra consciously chooses enthusiastic young conductors like Lahav Shani, Bertie Baigent and Tarmo Peltokoski. They translate classical pieces into the present in their own unique way.”
On Friday, September 16, join Lahav Shani will lead the orchestra for: Go West! It consists of Westside Story, bluegrass and mambo. Afterwards, the live big band New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra will play at the afterparty.
Saturday, September 17, you can experience Finnish fireworks with Gershwin’s Rhapsody in blue, led by Tarmo Peltokoski. Both evenings well-known classical pieces are translated in a contemporary way.
