Freshly Chopped opens stall in Markthal

Freshly Chopped came about from a simple need; a food outlet in Ireland where people could find healthy food fast to fuel their day. The first Chopped store opened in Dublin in May 2012 and now the concept rapidly expands. Rotterdam gets its own Freshly Chopped from September 19 in Markthal.

Visitors to the Markthal can get Freshly Chopped’s healthy and freshly prepared meals. The ingredients are honest, without added sugars or e-numbers and are sourced as close to home as possible.

Visitors have a choice of salads, wraps or burritos at Freshly Chopped. They can create their own combination of ingredients or choose from a set menu consisting of various meat, fish, vega or vegan options. Then all the ingredients are chopped on the spot with a mezzaluna knife. It’s served in a wrap or biodegradable bowl. Guests can also go here for smoothies and juices that are freshly prepared.

Until now, there is no concept in the Markthal that entirely focuses on healthy food. Tourists and people working in the neighborhood get the opportunity to pick up a healthy breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The Freshly Chopped in Rotterdam has a smaller area as usual, but is very efficiently set up to turn away high volumes. The store is almost entirely digital. This allows staff to focus on preparing the dishes and customers can pick up their orders faster.
