De Speelfabriek is looking for crowdfunding

De Speelfabriek was founded by Maarten Horstink. As a child, he tested self-built boats on the Westersingel and made soup from found vegetables. The pleasure this gave him at the time gave him the idea, as an adult, of starting an invention playground where children aged 5 to 12 can try out things independently, at their own pace, in order to discover what they are good at.

After moving between several locations Speelfabriek has found a new spot on the Weena, next to Miniworld and close to Rotterdam CS. But money is needed to make the move and the restart possible. Because of the pandemic, the reserves of De Speelfabriek are empty. That’s why a crowdfunding campaign has been started. In total, the foundation needs 45,000 euros to make the move to and the start-up in the new building possible.

At the desired central location, De Speelfabriek can receive many more visitors. Through a fixed rental contract, enter into structural cooperation with Rotterdam’s primary schools. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.
