Closer to Jazz

On 24 May, Closer to Jazz organises, in collaboration with UDSRotterdam, swinging jazz music on behalf of the retailers of Rotterdam city center on the Lijnbaan, Kruiskade and on the Meent. Under the name “Jazz in the City”, sparkling jazz concerts take place in unusual places: in the midst of shoppers.

This evening is part of the new city event “GastRO” (24 to 26 May) that takes place on the Friday night. The public can shop while enjoying a snack, a drink and of course some music. The stores are open until 11pm!

Jazz in the City is the logical continuation of the success of Winterjazz in the City, which Closer to Jazz organised in December 2018 in collaboration with UDS Rotterdam. The concerts this time are only a small part of the summer programming of Closer to Jazz. A total of 44 mini-concerts will take place in the shopping area of Rotterdam.

Closer to Jazz uses the support that it has built up through its weekly series of jazz concerts and jam sessions in Stadsbrasserie Rotterdam. More information and an overview of the concert locations can be found on the website.
