Floating Office Rotterdam, Depot and Little C can be best building

The Royal Institute of Dutch Architects has presented 10 nominations for the Building of the year. There are three contenders from Rotterdam: Floating Office Rotterdam, Depot and Little C. With the announcement of the nominees, the public can now vote at this site

In the category Private Living Experience the Trudo Tower in Eindhoven, Stories in Amsterdam and Landgoed de Lage Lier have a chance. Two projects have been selected in the category Liveability & Social Cohesion: Spaarndammerhart in Amsterdam and Little C in Rotterdam.

There are three nominations in the category Stimulating Environments. These are Floating Office Rotterdam and Depot Museum Boijmans van Beuningen – both in Rotterdam – and the Renewal King Willem I College in Den Bosch. In the fourth and final category, that of Identity & Iconic Value, the new District Court in Amsterdam and Museum Singer Laren are the contenders.

Those interested can vote for the nominees until 28 April. The project with the most votes wins the public prize. In addition, all nominees have a chance to win the jury prize. The Best Building of the Year 2022-ceremony is on 12 May in the Zuidplein Theatre in Rotterdam. In the 2021 edition, this building won in the category: Quality of Life & Social Cohesion.

BNA Best Building of the Year is the Dutch architecture prize for buildings that offer added value. To clients, users, and society. The first edition was in 2006. Several buildings in Rotterdam have since won awards like Startmotor, Central Station and De Karel Doorman.
