Booking site Moonback expands even further with crowdfunding

In 2021 Rotterdam-based booking site Moonback was launched after a crowdfunding campaign. It has become an overnight success as its principle is highly admirable. An easy alternative to stressing booking sites only going for profit. Now a second crowdfunding campaign is started to expand more. Moonback wants to use the investment to make an even bigger impact.

The booking site started when founder Niels Meissen posted a frustrated LinkedIn-post about a large booking platform asking for support. While paying out billions to its shareholders just before. He got a lot of reactions and expressions of support. The basis for Moonback was there. Niels initiated a crowdfunding campaign to develop an honest booking site, not rushing its users.

Moonback in Rotterdam

Moonback is now available in Antwerpen and several Dutch cities like Amsterdam, Delft, Utrecht and of course, their hometown Rotterdam. Hotels like Hotel New York, SS Rotterdam, Room Mate Bruno, Supernova, H2otel and Inntel Hotels Rotterdam Centre can be booked.

New ambitions of the booking site

Now the next step is to expand the range of cities and hotels. So travellers have more choice and are more likely to book a hotel through Moonback. The goal is to offer 51 cities in Europe within five years. With the crowdfunded investment they can reach that goal, together with Destination Marketing Organisations (DMOs), hotel associations and event organisers. Moonback is already in the upscaling phase and is going to accelerate. In in the number of cities offered but also the website and company. To improve the site there will be reviews, multiple languages, an automated process when cancelling and extensive city maps. The team gets more members to conquer new cities and hotels.
