Art Rotterdam is moved to the spring of this year

Art Rotterdam was supposed to take place this February. However, the art fair has been postponed to May. The fair will now take place in the Van Nellefabriek in Rotterdam from May 19 to May 22. This is necessary as the fair cannot take place under the new Corona measures.

Fons Hof, Director of Art Rotterdam: ”After we had to move to summer last year due to the Corona situation, we are now moving to spring. It is good to notice that all participants, including the NN Art Award, are moving to the new date.”

The fair renowned for its focus on emerging art, will launch its 23rd edition. It offers visitors an opportunity to follow the latest developments and make unexpected purchases. Across a floor space of 10,000 m2, more than 100 leading galleries will present the work of up-and-coming and established talent. The 23rd edition introduces two important innovations. The Projections video section has a completely new format. Prospects, the Mondriaan Fund exhibition, gets a major expansion.

The Prospects exhibition, a permanent part of the fair and organized by the Mondriaan Fund, is also moving to the new date. This year, Prospects shows no fewer than 89 young artists who are making a start in the art world. Due to a large number of artists, Prospects will occupy extra space in the building opposite the entrance to the fair this year.

Rotterdam Art Week; the festival for art, design and architecture lovers will therefore also take place in the spring. With various other fairs, openings, exhibitions and Open Ateliers. Each of which strengthens and enlivens the cultural climate in the city.
