Makki is a Rotterdam-based design studio mainly creating products for kids. Next to wooden animals and a Giant Colouring Picture they also designed enamel pins of icons in Rotterdam.
There were already enamel pins of the Watertaxi, Euromast, Hotel New York, Central Station and a Cube house. The collection now includes de Hef, the Erasmus bridge and Depot. There is a pin of the White House. Architect Willem Molenbroek designed the 10-level building in 1898, which was an unprecedented height in Europe at the time. Of course, there also is a crane, as it’s the symbol of the ever-changing city.
The enamel pins can be purchased online. In Rotterdam Makii is sold at Alles in Wonderland and at Voorlopig.
Makii (a play on the word βmakeβ) became a great success after the launch of their first product: the giant coloring picture. After that, they gradually expanded their product range. Today their products are sold all over the world, inspiring kids to let their creativity explode!
