Heerenhuys hosts concerts every sunday

Since 2018, music sounds in the Park every Sunday morning from the Heerenhuys. The Park in Rotterdam has been a national monument since 2011 and has a long history with music.

With the Heerenhuyskamer concerts, an initiative Droom en Daad Foundation, and Dudok in the Park, a popular tradition was been reinstated. As there were concerts in the Heerenhuys in the 19th century. In the atmospheric and appropriately named Parkzaal, the musicians play at a safe distance from the visitors.

Every Sunday morning there are surprising concerts by musicians, always linked to Rotterdam. From pop to world music, and from jazz to classical.

Wide variety at Heerenhuys

A wide variety of concerts are scheduled for the coming Sundays. This Sunday Saxophonist Loek van den Berg and keyboard player DaniΓ«l van der Duim will. On February 13, international talents selected for the Academy of the Rotterdam Philharmonic will play.

Cloudfish is a unique duo consisting of singer Hartog Eysman and violinist Jasper Leclercq. Special guest Andreas Suntrop on guitar joins on February 20th. World music comes from flamenco singer Raquel Kurpershoek on 6 March. Sunday, March 13th the musicians of the Erasmus Quartet, who met at Codarts, are present at the Heerenhuys. They have challenged composer Gustavo Gabrera to write an accessible composition for string quartet, referring to Schubert’s work and the pandemic.

Fado singer Magda Mendes plays March 20th. The adventurous jazz gentlemen of the Artvark Saxophone Quartet will present their new album ‘Mother of Thousand’ on 27 March.

To give as many people as possible the chance to visit a concert, there are two concerts on one Sunday during the current measures. The starting times are 11.30 AM and 12.45 PM, with a maximum of thirty people attending each time. The tickets are €7.50.
