TGI Fridays

TGI Fridays opens a typical American Bar & Grill in the Markthal

In 1965, TGI Fridays opened its first location in New York City. Today it comprises more than 800 restaurants in 60 countries offering authentic American food and drinks. The first Dutch Bar & Grill opened in Rotterdam in the ’90s. Unfortunately, it didn’t last. But recently a TGIF was opened in Utrecht and it’s such a success Rotterdam is next. So we can once again enjoy Sesame Chicken Strips, Tennessee Glaze Burgers, Wings, steaks, cocktails and extreme shakes in the Markthal from september 2021!

With its authentic American cuisine and fine bar, TGI Fridays is a great place to meet friends. Besides the lunch and dinner menu, there are regular events and promotions with special dishes. For example, every year TGI Fridays celebrates Halloween and Christmas extensively, with the entire restaurant being transformed into the appropriate atmosphere. Live sports is constantly broadcasted on many screens and the Super Bowl is shown in the middle of the night.

TGI Fridays is especially known for a special glaze, also known as the Jack Daniels Signature Glaze. This sauce has been made according to a secret recipe for years and is only available at TGI restaurants. Dishes that are served with the Glaze are Fridays Sesame Chicken Strips, Tennessee Glaze Burger, Fridays Signature Glaze Wings and Fridays Signature Glaze Ribs.

The bar is at the heart of the restaurant. Cocktails are freshly prepared using traditional recipes. Every year, TGI Fridays hosts the World Bartender Championship. An international event that showcases the art of bartending: the perfect blend of talent, innovation and fun.
