Zalmhuis

The Zalmhuis (salmon house) is a city icon, but the interior could use a little makeover. So that’s what new owner Herman Hell did. And he did it very – almost unrecognisably – well. At the foot of the Van Brienenoord Bridge, this is the latest hotspot for eating the best fish. Surrounded by contemporary furniture, striking wall prints and authentic details, here you can order a sandwich pulled salmon, crispy salmon sushi, the exclusive Keta salmon from Alaska or a ‘high salmon’. But the menu has many more eccentric (non-salmon) dishes on offer.
