The streets of Rotterdam are very often used for filming. From commercials and TV series to motion pictures. At the moment The Takeover is being shot and the action film is largely set in Rotterdam.
The Takeover is the first Netflix Original action film from Dutch soil according to the streaming service and producer Fiction Valley. The movie about ethical hacker Mel Bandison (Holly Mae Brood) will be available on Netflix later this year. When Mel disables a hack on a high-tech self-driving bus, she unintentionally brings down an international criminal network. Together with Thomas Deen, her awkward blind date from the night before, she goes on the run from these criminals. But the police are also after them.
Géza Weisz plays the part of Thomas Deen. Other roles include Whalid Benmbarek, Susan Radder, Frank Lammers and Noortje Herlaar.

Tijs van Marle wrote the story, based on an idea by Hans Erik Kraan and directed by Annemarie van de Mond. The production is in the hands of Annemieke van Vliet and Femke Bennink.
