Rotterdam Science Gallery BUCKLE UP

Science Gallery Rotterdam buckles up

Science Gallery is a public space at Erasmus University Medical Center Rotterdam. Here science, art, society, education, and health care meet. From Friday, May 27 to Sunday, May 29 visitors are expected to Buckle Up for workshops, talks, and guided tours in Erasmus MC and the Wijkpaleis.

Buckle Up is the first physical public event since the opening of the Science Gallery in 2019. It’s one of the pop-up activities to start engaging audiences. Soon Science Gallery will open a permanent site in the main building of the Medical Center. Science Gallery Rotterdam will create and host free exhibitions and events designed for a target audience of young adults from 15 to 25 years old.

During Buckle Up scientists and artists provide a weekend full of surprising activities. Bio-artist Basse Stittgen transforms your waste into something new. Mieke Megawati Vlasblom hosts a workshop with spoken word artist Dean Bowen and artist Franky Sticks. In an interactive workshop, visitors explore how biomedical research can play a role in preparing for climate change.

(R)EVOLUTION

In April 2020, Science Gallery Rotterdam opened its doors with the exhibition (UN)REAL. The current exhibition (R)EVOLUTION, Resilience in times of Covid, takes Erasmus MC’s multifaceted COVID-19 research as the starting point for a journey of discovery by young people, scientific researchers and artists.

(R)EVOLUTION runs until July 3, 2022.
