Red Bull BC One Holland Cypher

Every year, thousands of breakers compete for a chance to represent at the Red Bull BC One World Final. 16 B-Boys and 8 B-Girls will compete on September 26th in the Maassilo in Rotterdam to get the last ticket to the Red Bull BC One World Final in Poland.

After two years of absence, the Red Bull BC One Holland Cypher is back as a physical event, and you can be there! Tickets are free and can be reserved via this link. Tickets are subject to change, as the corona measures are still subject to change.

With Breakdance as a new sport on the Olympic programme of 2024, the popularity of the sport is growing. The Netherlands have a fighting chance as we are known for good B-Boys, B-Girls and crews. Menno van Gorp is from Rotterdam and he is the first dancer to win the Red Bull BC One World Final three times, in 2014, 2017 and 2019.

Menno has one of the most original styles on the breaking scene today – he flows effortlessly from one move to the next, using a lot of back rocks coupled with unique, seamless transitions. For Menno, being a good B-Boy means being an all-round breaker with style, character and originality. “If you want to win a battle you have to give your all,” he says. “You have to dance on beat, be original, be able to freestyle, and have the right attitude.”

Menno is also a father, painter and he designs clothing. He hopes that hip-hop will always be a part of his life. He wants to give back to the scene by teaching and organising events.

This year Menno is not participating himself, but he is a judge. He will do this together with B-boy Roxrite from America – who is known for achieving 100 breakover victories at major international tournaments – and the French B-Girl Sarah Bee. They will judge the participants on their creativity, performance and musicality.

The winners of the Red Bull BC One Holland Cypher will advance to the Red Bull BC One Last Change Cypher on November 4 in Gdańsk, Poland. There they will compete with 36 global Cypher winners for the very last wildcard to the Red Bull BC One World Final on November 6. Earlier this year, Dutch B-Boy Lee secured his place in the Red Bull BC One Last Change Cypher at the Red Bull BC One E-Battle.
